Meet Morgan, just 6 days old for her first photo shoot… and she was amazing! I love her super reddish hair which she gets from her Daddy. :) She stayed wide awake during most of the session in awe of the amazing world around her. Mommy is so proud of her beautiful baby girl!

Temple Bridal Fair

This past Sunday, Scott and I set up at our very first bridal fair ever!  Scott (aka; my hubby the voice activated light stand) worked so hard to put together my latest IKEA finds while I was in Dallas for class on Saturday. We ended up with a pretty cute little booth featuring furniture that will be doubling as my new office furniture. Yay for new stuff!

Thank you so much to all of the FAB brides who stopped by. It was so nice meeting all of you and I will be announcing the winner of the Free Love Session on Friday. Stay tuned and be sure to fan me on Facebook (Bella Vida Photography by Karen Venter) and add me as a friend. You will be the first ones to know about the latest contests and giveaways in future months and have access to special pricing.  Have a great week everyone!

David and Katie Are Married {Wedding} Tyler, TX

A little over a week ago, David and Katie were married in a romantic candlelit ceremony at their family church in Tyler. I could not have been happier for them both and had to keep reminding myself not to cry!  The day went by in such a whirlwind, but there was one thing that was always apparent through the wedding day craze. They are both loved and supported by so many people. If you were to meet these two, you would understand why. There is no hiding how they feel for each other or how they live thier life.

I feel so blessed to have gotten to capture thier big day. Here are a few shots.

They danced out of the church to Michael Buble'!

David took a huge breath at how GORGEOUS Katie is! These are my favorite moments from a wedding!

Kansas and Taylor {Love Session} Theater District, Houston

My best friend Kansas is getting married at the end of the month and I could not be happier for her. :) She was always the sports girl and I was the musician. Quite ironically she is marrying Taylor who moonlights as a musician and I married the military sports guy. Go figure! We always thought it would be the other way around!

Anyway, I figured we could not do a session and not somehow incorporate the music. It would have just been wrong!  Despite the rain, we were able to work it out. My vintage style microphone with Taylor’s guitar, harmonica and amp were just what we needed. We were a sight walking down the street looking like a traveling band! People were really waiting for Taylor to plug in and rock out for them!  As promised earlier in the week, here are a few more from our session.

My Best Friend is Getting Married!

Kansas has been my best friend since I was in high school. We are not going to talk about how long ago that actually was… but it has been a long time :) . What does this all mean? It means that one of the best people that I have ever known will be saying “I do” and I am lucky enough to be there as the maid of honor. For once, I get to be in the wedding and not shooting or singing. Wa-hoo!

This past Thursday, I met KK and Taylor (the fab hubby to be) and we headed down to the theater district. The rain was threatening but we worked around it. Here a a couple from our shoot. More to come later!

Kansas and Taylor…I can not wait to see the two of you as husband and wife in a few weeks. I love you guys!

Meet Meg and Mike! {Love Session} Houston, Discovery Green

Last Sunday I got to shoot the sweetest, most relaxed couple ever! Meg and Mike are so obviously in love that it was hard to pick just a few images to share on the blog! There were so many sweet moments between these two that I would get soooo caught up in the emotions and almost forgot to press the shutter!

I met them at Discovery Green and we spent some time getting to know each other while taking some fabulous photos. I learned that they both share the same philosophy on love and life that I do. To put it simply, they have no illusions of perfection and live life to the fullest as it comes. They are officially awesome people in my book! :)

Love is not always peachy, but it is a heck of a ride when you share it with your best friend. Meg and Mike(a.k.a. The Dog Whisperer) are two orange soda drinking, dog loving, optimistic, super sweet people. I can not wait for the wedding!

Tim and Erin are Married! {Wedding} Dallas, Level Two Events

Almost two weeks ago, Tim and Erin were married at Level Two Events in Dallas. The wedding was romantic and kitschy; yet beautifully simple. Tim and Erin are not your average couple. Tim is from Germany and Erin is from my little hometown outside of Houston. They are fun, playful and delightfully sarcastic.  They are the perfect match for me.  No regular wedding flow here…just good times with artistic and German flair.

Since the couple are such individuals, they opted out of the traditional wedding rings.  Both of their rings (as well as the bridal jewelry) were custom designed. The rings were designed by Olschwanger Designs in Dallas and the bridal jewelry by Fly High Little Bunny in Houston. They weddings rings are rough diamonds and are very unique.

Tim and Erin nixed the ring bearer and chose a remote control Porsche (driven by Robin, the best man) to carry the hardware down the aisle. Different and totally unexpected! I loved it! Here are a few from the big day. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Frielingsdorf!

The RingsThe unconventional ring bearer.

Earlier in the day….

Getting Ready….

Right before the ladies were getting dressed I got to spend spend some time with the boys. Tim’s family (brother and father) and best friend flew in from Germany. We had a good time getting a few shots before the wedding. Here are a couple.

Notice Robin (Tim's brother) in the back taking pictures of the boys while I took pictures of Tim.

The Super Talented and So Sweet Katie {Lifestyle Session} Pearland, TX

How lucky am I to have photographed two gorgeous girls named Katie who are both super sweet and fun to work with?!?!  It does not get any better than that! :)  Both of them had the best pair of purple shoes. We all know that I have such a love affair with shoes, hats, and accessories!

Fun, awesome girls+ fab purple shoes = one  VERY happy photographer!  Thanks to Katie, I am now the proud owner of a pair of really cute purple booties.  At the end of her shoot this past Thursday, I kept joking with her not to leave them around or they might disappear.  After the joking, she and her super sweet mom Orlanda decided to give me the booties. My mouth dropped and I happily accepted the perfectly sized shoes.

Besides being generous and gorgeous, Katie is also really talented. The girl sings, dances and acts. She is a true triple threat but you can’t not like her because she is very down to earth and really sweet.  Did I mention that Katie is only 14 and she writes her music? She and I share a love for Lady Antebellum and of course cute shoes!  Here are a few of my favorites from her session.

The Beautiful Katie {Bridal Session} Austin, Mayfield Park

Tap, Tap ,Tap…..hello? Is this thing on? I have neglected this poor little blog for so long but today is the day to update! :)

Last Saturday, I met Katie for her bridal session in Austin at Mayfield Park. I picked Mayfield Park for the peacocks and beautiful grounds. I learned that the peacocks are so OVER people like me trying to chase them around to get them to show their feathers!

As far as Katie, she and her AMAZING mom Lynne made the trip from Tyler. They had a heck of a trip, but they got there safely and we ended up having a really good time! I have to say that I have never met a momma so willing to climb walls, hold a reflector, get the bride ready and help me round up all my gear. Really Lynne? Are you truthfully so awesome?!

Katie was getting over being really sick and only got a few hours of sleep before the session. You would NEVER know it though! Telling Katie not to smile is like telling the sun not to shine. She pulled the session off like a trooper!

Katie and Lynne…..you were both so amazing and fun to work with. I am looking forward to meeting the rest of the family at the wedding. I am so lucky to get to be a part in of such big day!
